US hails 'tremendous amount of progress' on Ukraine peace plan

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said delegations in Geneva have made a "tremendous amount of progress" on Ukraine peace talks. It comes after Europe worked up counter-proposals to a 28-point US-Russia peace plan which had caused alarm in Kyiv, the West, and even among some US officials. Mr Rubio struck an optimistic tone while addressing the media after discussions, but was light on the details, stressing that "there's still some work to be done".
